UP Assembly Bypolls 2024 Date: By-elections are to be held for 9 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh. After the victory of BJP's Anoop Pradhan from Hathras Lok Sabha seat of UP, now the Khair assembly seat of Aligarh has become vacant. Anoop Pradhan was an MLA from Khair seat and was handling the responsibility of Revenue Minister in UP. After his resignation, by-elections will have to be held on Khair seat. Let us tell you that BJP has been winning this seat since 2017. But this time it may be difficult for BJP to win this seat. Because Chandrashekhar Azad has also made up his mind to contest elections on this seat.

Caste equation of Khair seat
The total number of voters in the 2022 elections on Khair assembly seat was 378196, which includes 204583 male and 173613 female voters. There are 1.10 lakh Jats, Brahmins 50 thousand, Dalits 40 thousand, Muslims 30 thousand, Vaishya 25 thousand and other 25 thousand voters in this area. Despite Khair assembly seat being reserved, Jat votes play a decisive role here. At present, BJP had snatched this seat by breaking the fort of RLD. BJP has been occupying this seat since 2017.
Assembly Khair came into existence in 1957 after independence. Tappal and now Khair assembly seat have been occupied by Chaudharys due to being Jat dominated. For this reason, it is also called the second Jatland of the district. This seat got a break in the year 2002 when Brahmin leader Pramod Gaur won on the strength of BSP's social engineering. In 2007, Chaudhary of RLD. Satyapal Singh won. Since this seat was reserved for Scheduled Castes, SC MLAs have been elected from this seat twice.
