New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has broken his silence for the first time in the case of misbehavior with AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. He said on Wednesday that he hoped that the case would be investigated impartially and justice should be served.Swati Maliwal alleged that Arvind Kejriwal's personal assistant (PA) Bibhav Kumar had assaulted her when she went to meet the Chief Minister on May 13. Police have registered a case in the matter and are investigating. Police have arrested the accused Bibhav. Bibhav Kumar is currently in police custody for five days.
investigation should be fair
In an interview to PTI, Arvind Kejriwal said that the Swati Maliwal case is in the court and his comments may affect the proceedings. He said that but I hope that there will be a fair investigation. Justice should be given. There are two versions of the incident. The police should investigate both the versions impartially and justice should be done.
What did Swati Maliwal say today?
Earlier in the day on Wednesday, Maliwal alleged that "Yesterday I got a call from a big leader of the party. He told how there is a lot of pressure on everyone, dirty things have to be said against Swati, her personal photos have to be leaked and she has to be broken. This is It is being said that anyone who supports him will be expelled from the party.
She said, "You raise an army of thousands, I will face it alone because the truth is with me. I have no resentment against them, the accused is a very powerful man. Even the biggest leader is afraid of him. No one has the courage to stand against him." I don't expect anyone to be able to take it."
He said, "Someone has got the job of holding a press conference and someone has got the duty of tweeting. It is the duty of someone to call the volunteers sitting in America and come out with something against me."
Delhi Police went to Mumbai regarding Kejriwal's PA Bibhav
Delhi Police team took Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's PA Bibhav Kumar, who was arrested on charges of assault and molestation of AAP MP Swati Maliwal, to Mumbai on Tuesday. Bibhav has talked about formatting his iPhone there.
