The changing weather brings many changes to the body. Nowadays, the body is affected in many ways even during the monsoon season. Some people fall ill easily, some have rashes, while some start having joint pain.

Joint pain during monsoon should not be ignored. Monsoon brings with it changes in temperature, humidity, moisture and many types of infections. In such a situation, the possibility of the atmosphere becoming hot and cold at the same time increases. The body is not able to accept this change in temperature easily.

Why does joint pain occur during monsoon?

damp

During monsoons, the atmosphere remains humid all the time, which causes fluid buildup in the joints and can lead to swelling. This can further increase the pain of a person suffering from arthritis.

Temperature changes

Heavy rains and rains after summer cause sudden changes in temperature. This can reduce the lubrication of the synovial joints, which can cause stiffness and swelling, causing pain.

Changes in Barometric Pressure

During humidity and moisture, the barometric pressure of the atmosphere changes. This causes swelling in the cells of the joints and then they start causing pain.

Decreased physical activity

During the rains, people are not able to go out for a walk or jog. This reduces their regular physical activity. This leads to weakening of muscles and increased pain and stiffness in joints.

In such a situation, how to get relief from joint pain-

Stay active- If you are unable to go out of the house, then do stretching, walking or jogging inside the house. Keep your weight under control, because excess weight also increases pressure on the joints and pain can start.

Stay hydrated- Drinking water helps keep joints elastic and prevent them from becoming stiff, making them easier to move.

Reduce sodium intake – Eat less sodium to reduce fluid retention and swelling.

Take a nutritious diet- There are certain foods that reduce inflammation such as flaxseed, chia seeds, broccoli, etc. Consume them and turmeric is also considered a very effective medicine for joint pain. The curcumin present in it is anti-inflammatory and provides relief from inflammation, pain and stiff joints.
