Jerusalem: 25 people were killed in Israeli attacks in central Gaza on Friday. Five of those killed are children. Earlier, 16 people were killed in two attacks in the Nuseirat refugee area on Thursday. While 13 people have been killed in Israel's latest air strikes in Lebanon.
Several airstrikes took place in the Dahiya area of the capital Beirut on Thursday-Friday night. Many buildings were destroyed in these attacks. It is suspected that some people may be trapped under the rubble of these buildings. Meanwhile, American diplomats are active in Lebanon regarding ceasefire. Israel has also indicated that if its expectations are met, there may be a ceasefire there for some time.
Another senior Hamas official killed
The Israeli military said on Friday it killed senior Hamas official Izz al-Din Kassab in an air strike in Khan Younis. The Palestinian group mourned Kassab's death in a statement, and said he was killed along with another Hamas official, Ayman Ayesh, in an Israeli attack on their car in the enclave. Hamas sources told Reuters Kassab was an official of a local group in Gaza but not a member of its decision-making political office.
Israeli attack on Lebanon-Syria border
Lebanon's Transport Minister Ali Hamieh said an Israeli attack on Friday near a border crossing between northeastern Lebanon and Syria closed the crossing after it was partially reopened. Hamieh said the attack occurred at the same location inside Syria, just ahead of a Syrian border installation, as Israeli bombing last month that closed the crossing. It was partially reopened to cars but not trucks, and is now closed again.

A fierce war continues between Israel and Hezbollah. Hezbollah fired more than 4,400 shells towards Israel in the past month. The IDF said on Friday that Hezbollah fired more than 4,400 shells towards Israel in the past month.
The IDF also said they detected more than 3,000 improvised explosive devices in the past month, and found and destroyed 2,500 anti-tank missiles and rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs). The IDF further said they have killed more than 1,500 militants since the start of the war.
