 New Delhi :  The Labour Party has formed a government in Britain after 14 years. This time, 29 MPs of Indian origin won the general elections. 19 Indian MPs of the Labour Party will be elected to the House of Commons. 7 candidates of Indian origin from the Conservative Party have won the elections.  One of these Indian-origin MPs, Gujarati-origin candidate Shivani Raja has won from Leicester East seat. During the oath taking ceremony in the House of Commons, Shivani Raja had the book of Bhagavad Gita in her hands.He took the oath of MP by keeping the book of Gita in his hand. The video of this incident is becoming quite viral on social media.

After the swearing-in ceremony, Shivana Raja wrote on her x handle, "It is an honour to be sworn in as an MP today to represent Leicester East. I am really proud to have sworn my allegiance to His Majesty King Charles on the Gita."
