Bijnor News: The terror of leopard has been seen in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh for the last several months, due to which people are very scared. The forest department has not been able to catch this leopard till now. Recently, the administration had kept goats in a cage to catch the leopard, but the leopard was not caught, rather the poor goats became the prey of the thieves. The thieves stole the goats kept in the cage. 
 
People are very scared of the terror of leopard in Bijnor. This leopard is seen roaming from fields to villages, on the roads. The forest department team laid traps at more than 50 places in the entire area around the village to catch them. In many of which goats were kept. So that the leopard comes in search of prey and can be caught. 

Goats kept to trap leopard stolen
According to the news of Times of India, amidst the threat of leopard, the thieves are emboldened. Before the leopard reaches there after seeing the goats, the thieves are already stealing the goats. They either kill and eat them or sell them in the market. 
Rupesh Kumar, who lives in Ram Bagh Colony, said that "a few days ago a leopard was seen near the village, which was reported to the forest department. The forest department put up a cage to catch the leopard in which a goat was kept. But someone stole this goat, after which the villagers together collected money to buy another goat, which was kept in the cage. But on Wednesday the thieves stole that too. The troubled villagers have now decided to remove the cage. 

In the last two months, there have been incidents of theft of goats from the cages installed by the forest department at various places across the district including Pilana, Kotwali Dehat, Afzalgarh and Chandpur. Divisional Forest Officer of Bijnor, Gyan Singh has confirmed the incidents of theft. He said that 87 sensitive places have been identified in the area, where 50 cages were placed. Goats were kept in these cages as fodder, but the thieves have stolen many goats, which has created a big challenge in our operation. This is a very disturbing matter. A complaint has been lodged in the police station in this regard.
