Anuj Kanaujia, shooter of Uttar Pradesh's infamous Mukhtar Ansari gang, was killed in an encounter in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand on Saturday. The UP STF and Jharkhand ATS team carried out this encounter. In fact, a total of 23 criminal cases including murder, robbery, extortion and Gangster Act are registered against Mukhtar Ansari gang's shooter Anuj Kanaujia. According to the information, after the order of UP DGP, Mau police formed several teams for his arrest. After this, UP STF and Jharkhand ATS jointly took action in Jamshedpur.

Actually, UP STF and Jharkhand ATS jointly conducted an operation to catch Anuj Kanaujia. However, during this operation, the DSP of UP STF also got shot in the left hand below the shoulder. Currently, he has been admitted to TMH Hospital in Jamshedpur. According to the information, UP Police received information that criminal Anuj Kanaujia is in Jamshedpur. Apart from this, the police found the last location of accused Anuj Kanaujia in Bhumihar Sadan of Amalta City near Janta Market in Govindpur.

Police warned to surrender

After this, on Saturday evening, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand police jointly surrounded Anuj Kanaujia for action. Seeing himself surrounded from all sides, shooter Anuj Kanaujia started firing at the police team. During this, the police gave several warnings to get shooter Anuj out. UP Police first made an announcement and asked Anuj to surrender, but despite this, he fired about 20 rounds from a 9 mm pistol from the window of the house. During this, DSP Dharmesh Kumar Shahi of UP Police got shot in the hand. After this, Anuj also got shot in the retaliatory firing by the police and he was killed.

Who was shooter Anuj Kanaujia?

The killed shooter Anuj Kanaujia was absconding for a long time. Earlier, there was a reward of one lakh on him. Later the reward amount was increased to 2.5 lakhs. There were 2 dozen cases against him. He was Mukhtar Ansari's sharp shooter and was originally a resident of Mau.

Anuj Kanaujia has a long criminal history. Apart from Mau, several cases are registered against him in Ghazipur as well. He was dodging the police for a long time, that is why the reward amount against him was increased from one lakh to 2.5 lakhs. Several police teams were searching for him. According to the information received, he was absconding for five years. 

The police had worked hard to catch Anuj Kanaujia. To increase pressure on him, his house in Azamgarh was demolished with a bulldozer. Apart from this, his family members were also sent to jail and action was taken against them under the Gangster Act. However, now this criminal has been killed in a joint operation of UP STF and Jharkhand Police.
