Delhi News: The High Court has taken a tough stand on the arrest of a Delhi businessman in UP. The court has directed the UP DGP to file an investigation report. Satinder Singh Bhasin was picked up from Connaught Place without informing the Delhi Police. The High Court has sought a reply from the UP and Delhi Police, calling it a violation of procedure. The bench of Justice Pratibha M Singh and Justice Rajneesh Kumar Gupta clearly said that it is mandatory to follow the protocol set in inter-state arrests.

In the hearing on March 20, the double bench directed the UP Police lawyer to submit a status report. Satinder Singh Bhasin had filed a petition in the court. The petitioner said that on February 18, the UP Police took him from Connaught Place to an unknown place without due process of law. On the next date, February 19, the UP court released him. The petitioner alleges that he was also beaten up during the arrest. The court also directed the Greater Noida Police Commissioner to submit a report.
