Varanasi News Today: Dhanteras festival is being celebrated across the country today. There is a tradition of buying jewellery, clothes, utensils, vehicles and electronic devices on this day. This will ensure happiness and prosperity in the family throughout the year. In the same sequence, devotees also get to see the golden form of Mother Annapurna in Kashi from Dhanteras. 

This time, on the festival of lights, Diwali, Dhanteras, people are getting the darshan of the golden mother Annapurna from Tuesday (29 October). Along with this, treasure is also being distributed as a blessing of happiness and prosperity. Devotees are seen standing in queues since late night, eager to have the darshan of the mother.

It is said about Kashi that there are seven days and nine festivals. Some festival or the other is organized here 365 days of the year. In this sequence, Kashi is a city where treasures are distributed among the devotees in the form of blessings from Diwali to Dhanteras. 

It is mentioned in the Sanatan scriptures that when there was chaos in the world, Lord Shankar asked for alms from Mother Annapurna and Mother Annapurna is known for nurturing and providing sustenance to the entire world. Every year on the day of Dhanteras, the golden form of Mother Annapurna is seen in Shri Annapurna Temple.

During this time, devotees also receive blessings in the form of treasure in the form of lava coins. The doors of the temple were opened since Tuesday morning. A huge crowd of devotees gathered to worship Mata Annapurna. During this time, a long queue of devotees was seen here.

Entry is being given from Bansphatak.
Since late night, devotees are queuing up to visit the Maa Annapurna temple. According to the information received, devotees are being allowed to enter the Annapurna temple through Bansphatak road of Kashi. Devotees will get darshan from 5 am to 11 pm today. 

Keeping in mind the convenience and safety of the devotees, more than 250 jawans have been deployed by the Varanasi Police Commissionerate on the temple road and in the temple. Apart from this, every suspicious person and object is also being monitored through CCTV cameras.
