Vanraj Andekar Murder News: Just before the assembly elections in Maharashtra, former Pune Municipal Corporation NCP councilor Vanraj Andekar was shot dead by some unidentified people on Sunday (September 1) night. According to Pune Police, he was also attacked with sharp weapons. The former councilor was murdered in the Nana Peth area of ​​the city. 

 

On the death of former NCP councilor Vanraj Andekar, Pune's Joint Police Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma said, "Tonight at around 9:30 pm, Vanraj Andekar (former councilor of Ajit Pawar's NCP faction) was standing with his cousin at Imandar Chowk. Some people came and attacked them. Initial investigation has revealed five rounds of firing. Before the firing, he was also attacked with sharp weapons. Crime Branch and other zone teams are engaged in finding and arresting the accused. It is not yet clear who the accused are? Why did they attack Vanraj Andekar? Some known people are being questioned, whose names have come up in this. He died due to a sharp weapon."

The attackers first attacked former councillor Vanraj with an axe and then shot him. When Vanraj Andekar was lying soaked in blood, the attackers fled from there. 

 

No one has been arrested yet

He was associated with the Nationalist Congress Party (undivided) before the Pune Municipal Corporation was brought under the state administration. Joint Police Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma said, 'Five bullets were fired at Vanraj Andekar. He was also attacked with a sharp weapon. He was taken to King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEM) in a dead state.' He said that Vanraj Andekar's body has been sent to Sasoon Hospital for post-mortem. At present, the police is investigating the matter. So far no arrest has been reported in this case.
