Dehradun : A case of fraud has come to light involving the daughter of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and former Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. Two Mumbai-based film producers duped former CM Ramesh Pokhriyal's daughter Aarushi Nishank of Rs 4 crore in the name of investing in a film and giving her a lead role in it. Realizing that she had been duped, Aarushi Nishank lodged a complaint at the Kotwali police station. 

Asked for money to invest in the film

In her complaint, Aarushi Nishank said that Varun Pramod Kumar Bagla and Manasi Varun Bagla offered her a lead role in one of their Hindi films. Along with this, they also promised to give her a big share from the earnings of the film. For this, both of them lured her to invest Rs 5 crore in the production of the film. 

made an excuse for completion of shooting

The complaint said that trusting them, she gave Rs 2 crore to the accused through her firm Himshri Films. Later, she gave more money to the film producers in small installments. In this way, she gave them a total of Rs 4 crore. However, later the accused informed her that she had been replaced by another actress in the film and its shooting in India had been completed. Realizing that she had been cheated, Aarushi asked the producers to return her money, but they refused to do so and even threatened her. 

She was deceived into giving her a job in the film 'Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan'

Sub-inspector Manmohan Singh Negi, who is investigating the case, said on Sunday that a case has been registered against the accused on the basis of the complaint lodged in this regard. A case has been registered against both the accused under various sections of extortion, cheating, fraud, criminal conspiracy and threat under the Indian Penal Code. He said that investigation of the case has been started. The film named 'Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan' in which Aarushi was offered a role, stars Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor in the lead roles.
