The Delhi government website is now going to be faster, easier and more helpful for the public. Delhi's IT, Transport and Health Minister Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh gave clear instructions in the review meeting of the IT department that all important government services should be visible at one place and in a clear manner on the website.
In the meeting, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh said that on the Delhi government website, water, sewer, health, Public Works Department (PWD) and other important services will be clearly shown in a separate tab on the first page, so that people do not have to spend much time. He also said that it is important to make the website fast and easy to use on mobile, so that any citizen can use the services from anywhere.
The IT Minister instructed all government departments to update their websites on time and remove old information. For this, the head of every department i.e. HOD has been given the responsibility.
The new website will include services from more than 100 departments. The website is being built on open source Drupal technology and will be hosted on the cloud to make it fast and secure. The website will have information in both Hindi and English languages and will run smoothly on all browsers and devices.
Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh also said that the design of the website should be clean, open quickly and the information required should be easily available. The website will have such a search option that any information can be found in a few seconds. This step of the Delhi government is another effort towards making the citizens digitally strong, so that government services become transparent, fast and directly accessible to the public.
