Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram was a contemporary of Treta Yuga (Treta Yuga story). He had to face only sorrows in his life. The great poet of Bhakti period, Goswami Tulsidas ji has described the life character of Lord Shri Ram in detail in his composition Ramcharitmanas.

It is described in Ramcharitmanas that a day before becoming the king of Ayodhya, Lord Shri Ram was given fourteen years of exile. The next day, following his father's orders, Lord Shri Ram went to exile with his wife, the goddess of the world, Mother Sita, and younger brother Lakshman ji. During the exile, Lord Shri Ram stayed in Dandakaranya forest for a long time. Dandakaranya forest was Ravana's stronghold. This forest was full of demons. Lord Shri Ram freed Dandakaranya forest from Ravana's terror by killing the demons.

It is said that Lord Shri Ram had made the Kodand bow in the Dandakaranya forest. During the exile, Lankapati Ravana had kidnapped Maa Janaki. At that time, Lord Shri Ram's great devotee and servant Hanuman ji had found Maa Janaki. Lanka King Ravana had kept Maa Janaki in Ashok Vatika.

Ravana was well aware of the power of Lord Hanuman. Goswami Tulsidas has also described this in Ramcharitmanas. With the help of the monkey army, Lord Shri Ram killed Ravana and freed mother Janaki. During the war, Lakshman ji fell unconscious due to Meghnath's Brahmastra. At that time, on the advice of Sushen Vaidya, Hanuman ji brought Sanjivani booti and saved Lakshman ji's life. Sanjivani booti is found on Drongiri mountain.

Lakshman ji became unconscious due to Meghnath's Brahmastra. Seeing this, Meghnath came to Lakshman ji and tried to wake him up. Indrajit did not succeed in this. Then Hanuman ji broke Meghnath's strength by hitting him with a mace. After this, he took Lakshman ji to Lord Shri Ram. Seeing Lakshman ji unconscious, Lord Shri Ram started crying.

Then Vibhishan Ji advised him to contact Sushen Vaidya. On the advice of Sushen Vaidya, Hanuman Ji reached Dronagiri Mountain to get Sanjivani Booti. When he did not find Sanjivani Booti or found all the herbs to be the same, Hanuman Ji lifted the Dronagiri Mountain and reached Lanka. Laxman Ji got new life from Sanjivani Booti. It is said that due to taking Dronagiri Mountain to Lanka, the people living near Dronagiri Mountain are unhappy with Hanuman Ji.
