New Delhi: Cold has increased in the national capital Delhi and its surrounding areas due to falling temperatures. In the last 24 hours, the minimum temperature of Delhi has increased slightly while the maximum temperature has decreased by 02 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, the sky will remain clear in the national capital till December 12. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the cold wave conditions can be seen more dense this weekend.
Cold wave warning in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, a persistent cold wave is likely to prevail in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and western Uttar Pradesh from December 11, with western Rajasthan already experiencing cold. Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad are expected to experience cold wave conditions today. Cold wave conditions have been predicted in eastern Rajasthan till December 13 and in Uttarakhand till December 10. This week, cold wave is likely to prevail in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, west Madhya Pradesh and west Rajasthan.
Dense fog will be seen in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, dense fog will be observed in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Sikkim, Bihar, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 24 hours.
Heavy rain is predicted in these states
The IMD has predicted that heavy rains will occur in isolated areas of South India including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal till December 13. Apart from this, heavy rains are expected in isolated areas of coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema from December 11-13. IMD data indicates that heavy rains are likely over south interior Karnataka on December 12 and 13 as well as Kerala and Mahe from December 12 to 14.
Snowfall alert in these states
Let us tell you that the first snowfall of the season occurred in Himachal Pradesh on Monday. Snowfall is expected to continue in high altitude areas in the coming days. A layer of snow was also seen in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand yesterday. The minimum temperature in Zojila of Jammu and Kashmir has gone down to 21 degrees below zero.
