Haridwar MP and former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has once again come into the limelight for his statement. After the controversy over his statement on illegal mining, he clarified that his statement has been presented in a distorted manner. He clarified that he had not named any officer, but only quoted a proverb, which was cut out of context and turned into a controversy.
While talking to media persons, Trivendra Singh Rawat said, "For us all the officers are our own, all are dear to us. By cutting off the first and second part of my statement, only a proverb was made an issue. This is not fair." He said that when he was the Chief Minister, even then such things were said that the officers have the power. But the truth is that all the officers worked together and strengthened the government.
In response to a question, Trivendra Singh Rawat clarified that he has no desire to become the Chief Minister. He said, "Now I am in Parliament. I do not want to become the Chief Minister. I am in Delhi and performing my responsibilities. Even when I was the Chief Minister, it was said that I give more importance to the officers. But for me all the officers were equal, they worked by understanding my instructions and I also gave them full respect.
Clarifying his statement on mining, Trivendra Singh Rawat said that he had only said that there should be no illegal and unscientific mining. He said, "The state's revenue has increased due to mining and this is a good thing. The state's sources of income are limited, so if the income increases from mining, it is welcome. But it is important to keep in mind that this process should not be illegal and unscientific."
Trivendra Singh Rawat stressed that he has nurtured his party with his blood and sweat and he would never want his government to be unstable. He said, "I am working for the stability and development of my party. Some people misinterpreted my statement and gave it a twist, which is unfortunate
However, the opposition has rejected this explanation of Trivendra Singh Rawat. Opposition parties say that Rawat's statement itself testifies to the fact that there is dominance of officials in the government and the political leadership is weakening.
