Veteran economist and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh passed away on 26 December. On one hand, the whole country is saddened by the death of Manmohan Singh, on the other hand, there is a ruckus between Bollywood actor Anupam Kher and director Hansal Mehta over Manmohan Singh's biopic.

In fact, on December 27, a journalist on X (Twitter) handle called Manmohan Singh 's biopic The Accidental Prime Minister the worst film and said, "If you want to remember the lies told about Manmohan Singh, you should watch The Accidental Prime Minister again. Not only is it one of the worst Hindi films ever made, but it is also an example of how the media was used to tarnish the name of a good man."

Anupam Kher got angry on Hansal

The matter escalated when the film's creative director Hansal Mehta reacted to this tweet, which angered Anupam Kher. Hansal Mehta wrote in response to the tweet, "+100." After this, Anupam Kher reacted to his tweet and wrote, “The hypocrite in this thread is not Vir Sanghvi. He has the freedom to dislike any film but Hansal Mehta, who was the creative director of The Accidental Prime Minister, was present during the entire shooting of the film in England. He gave his creative inputs and must have also taken fees for it.”

Anupam Kher further added, "So him saying Vir Sanghvi's comments are 100% justified is just lame and full of double standards. Not that I agree with Mr Sanghvi but we are all capable of doing bad or indifferent work but we should own it. Not like Hansal Mehta who is trying to earn some brownies from a certain section of people. Grow up Hansal! I still have all the videos and pictures of our shoot together."

Hansal Mehta replied

After this post of Anupam Kher, Hansal Mehta replied to him by tweeting two tweets one after the other. In the first tweet, he said, "Of course I accept my mistakes Mr. Kher and I can admit that I have made a mistake. Can't I do that sir? I did my job as professionally as I was allowed to do. Can you deny that?"

Hansal Mehta further said that even though he is a part of the film, it does not mean that he should keep defending it or he should not speak about his wrong decisions. He further said, “Regarding brownie points and hypocrisy, I would like to respectfully say that you are evaluating people with the same yardstick with which you evaluate yourself.”

In another tweet, Hansal Mehta said, "By the way Anupam Kher sir... you can say whatever you want. You can abuse me if you want. I apologize if I have hurt you unintentionally. Sending you love. We will talk and clear the air whenever you want. I will not give trolls a chance to make this matter worse and have fun on our expense. Good night, Merry belated Christmas and Happy New Year to you and all the hyperactive trolls."
