Lucknow. Encouraged by the results of the Lok Sabha election, the Congress has started the Thank You Yatra in all 403 assembly constituencies of the state. The proposed Yatra from 11 to 15 June will be extended by two days. Congress State President Ajay Rai said that now the Yatra will continue on 16 and 17 June as well. Congressmen will go among the people in all the districts along with the leaders of the allied parties of the opposition alliance INDIA and express their gratitude to them for the support received in the Lok Sabha elections. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra have started the Thank You Yatra from Rae Bareli on Tuesday.
Rai launched a scathing attack on the BJP on the issues of paper leak, inflation and unemployment. He said, papers of 19 examinations including constable recruitment have been leaked in Uttar Pradesh. Now the High Court has sought an answer regarding the paper leak in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) for undergraduate medical courses. Not only UP but the entire country has been involved in the paper leak.
Ajay Rai said- PM's claims have gone in vain
Rai said that after the Lok Sabha election results, the whole country is discussing Uttar Pradesh, where the opposition alliance gave a tremendous result. The public has shattered the claims of BJP that it will cross 400 this time, win all 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will win Varanasi by more than 10 lakh votes. On the question of terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, Rai said that terrorists should be given a befitting reply. There should be such a system that terrorist incidents do not happen again.
Alleged that when the terrorist incident took place in Jammu and Kashmir, the Lieutenant Governor was campaigning in Varanasi and Ghazipur. Said, no amount of condemnation would be enough. Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhana Mishra Mona said that BJP seeks votes in the whole country in the name of removing Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir but does not field even a single candidate from Jammu and Kashmir.
