ANI, Bijapur. Seven Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security personnel in the forests near Narayanpur-Bijapur inter-district border in Chhattisgarh on Thursday. Security personnel had a fierce encounter with Naxalites in the border area of ​​Narayanpur in the district.


Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar said that the encounter started around 11 am when a joint team of security personnel was out on an anti-Naxal operation and at that time intermittent firing started.

Giving information, SP Prabhat Kumar said that so far seven Naxalites wearing Maoist uniforms have been killed in the firing. He said, "All units of Chhattisgarh Police along with District Reserve Guard, Bastar Fighters and Special Task Force of Dantewada, Narayanpur and Bastar districts were involved in the operation. Based on the input, the presence of cadres of Indravati Area Committee and Platoon No. 16 of Maoists was found."

This year 122 Naxalites have been killed

He said that a total of seven weapons have been recovered from the encounter site. He also said that the operation is still going on and detailed information is awaited. With this incident, 112 Naxalites have been killed so far in different encounters with security forces in Chhattisgarh this year.

29 Naxalites were killed in Kanker 

Let us tell you that earlier there was an encounter between the joint party of DRG and BSF and Naxalites in Kanker district. In this encounter, there was heavy firing between the police and Naxalites, in which 29 Naxalites were killed. Naxal commander Shankar Rao, who had a reward of Rs 25 lakh on his head, was also killed in the attack.
