
The great festival of folk faith, Chaiti Chhath, is dedicated to Sun God and Chhathi Maiya. It lasts for 4 days. This festival starts from the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month and continues till Saptami Tithi. This festival is celebrated with great reverence and enthusiasm in North India, especially Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. Bathing and eating
The first day of Chaiti Chhath Puja will be celebrated on Tuesday, 1 April 2025. On this day, the devotees take a bath in a holy river or pond and then consume pure food. It is believed that on this day the devotees purify their body and mind, so that they can observe the difficult fast of the next three days properly. Pumpkin vegetable, gram dal and rice are specially made on this day.
Kharna
The second day of Chaiti Chhath Puja will be celebrated as Kharna on Wednesday, 2 April 2025. On this day, the devotees observe a waterless fast for the whole day and after worshiping the Sun God in the evening, they consume kheer made of jaggery, roti and fruit. After consuming the Kharna Prasad, the devotees begin a difficult 36-hour waterless fast.

The third day of Chaitra Chhath Puja is the most important. It will be celebrated on April 3. On this day, the devotees offer arghya to the Sun God on the banks of a holy river or pond in the evening. Arghya includes fruits, flowers, thekua and other traditional ingredients.

The last day of Chaiti Chhath Puja will be celebrated on Friday, 4 April 2025. On this day, the devotees offer Arghya to the rising Sun God. After offering Arghya, the devotees distribute Prasad and then break their fast.
