Ottawa. Canada hindu temple attacked The statement of the Indian High Commission in Ottawa has come soon after the violent attack on a Hindu temple in Brampton, Canada. A consulate camp is being organized near the temple and all this happened during that time.

The High Commission said this was extremely disturbing and such "interruptions" were being allowed in the course of routine consular work.

Very disappointing: Indian High Commission

The High Commission said that it is extremely disappointing to allow such disruptions to the routine consular work being organised by our consulates with the full cooperation of the local co-organisers. We are also deeply concerned for the safety of the applicants, including Indian nationals, at whose request such events are organised.

Despite these efforts by anti-India elements, our Consulate has been able to issue more than 1000 Life Certificates to Indian and Canadian applicants, the statement said.

There is also a question about organizing further camps

The High Commission also said that in view of these incidents and threats being received by Indian diplomats, any scheduled consular camps that will now be organised will be solely dependent on the security arrangements put in place by the local authorities.

alternative arrangements will be made

The High Commission also said in its statement that if any camp is not organised due to such disruptions, alternative arrangements will be made to provide those services. However, these may cause inconvenience to local users of these services.

Tension between the two countries after Nijjar murder case

This statement of the Indian High Commission has come amid diplomatic tensions between India and Canada over the murder of pro-Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Let us tell you that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had accused India in the Nijjar murder case, after which India had recalled its High Commissioner and taken strict action against Canada.

As in previous years, the Indian High Commission in Ottawa and the Indian Consulates General in Vancouver and Toronto have organized consular camps during this period for the benefit and convenience of local Life Certificate beneficiaries (Canadian and Indian).
