Kannauj : Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta's son and daughter-in-law were injured in an accident while travelling in a Mercedes car on the Agra Lucknow Expressway. Both were immediately admitted to the medical college. The doctors declared their condition to be normal and referred them to PGI Lucknow.
The 30-year-old son of Cabinet Minister in the state government Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, Abhishek, had gone to Delhi with his 28-year-old wife, Dr Krishnika, on Monday. On Tuesday evening, around 5 pm, both of them were returning to their residence in Gotami Nagar, Kalidas Marg, Lucknow, in their Mercedes car. During this, the car went out of control and collided with the divider at the 194-kilometre point on the Agra Lucknow Expressway near Fagua Bhatta in the Tirwa Kotwali area. Both of them were injured due to this.
The accident was so severe that the car was blown to pieces and the engine exploded and fell far away. A major accident was averted as the balloon in the car opened. The UPDA personnel reached there and took the injured out of the damaged car and admitted them to the Government Medical College. CO Dr Priyanka Bajpai, Kotwali in-charge Inspector Jitendra Pratap Singh, CMS of Medical College Dr Dilip Singh, reached there after getting information about the accident.
DM Shubhrant Kumar Shukla also reached there and inquired about the accident. Doctors sent both of them to PGI Lucknow. CMS said that the condition of both people is normal at the moment. Due to head injury, they have been sent to Lucknow for examination. CO said that an investigation would be conducted to find the cause of the accident.
