
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the premises of 3 senior railway officials yesterday. The CBI recovered cash worth lakhs of rupees and gold and silver worth crores during the raid, seeing which the team could not believe their eyes for a moment. The investigating agency had received information that railway officers were demanding bribes in exchange for favouring a Delhi-based private vendor of a private company and his family.
The officer was taking a bribe of Rs 7 lakh
After this, a team of CBI caught the railway officials red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 7 lakh. After this, for further investigation, the agency raided their houses. Where it was as if CBI found Kuber's treasure. CBI recovered more than 60 lakh cash, several gold bars and jewellery worth more than 3 crores from the hideouts of these corrupt officials.
Crores of rupees recovered
CBI said that a case was registered against the three officers caught taking bribe. Then raids were conducted at a total of 9 locations including the houses and offices of these three accused, from where 63.85 lakh cash, gold jewellery worth 96.26 lakh, property papers, mobile phones, laptops, hard disks, bribe payment papers were recovered. During the raid, a locker in the name of the wife of the arrested DEE was recovered in which jewellery and several gold bars worth 3.5 crores were recovered.
CBI arrested the officers and owners of the company
According to the information received from CBI, these officers are the kings of corruption, they used to take huge bribes by promising to clear contracts and bills in railways. After this, CBI has registered a case and arrested two officers, while FIR has been lodged against the third. CBI has also released the names of these officers, the first name is of Senior DEE Saket Chand Srivastava of DRM office of New Delhi, the second name is also SSE (Electrical) Tapendra Singh Gurjar of DRM office of New Delhi and the third name is SSE (Incharge of Electrical Section) Arun Jindal of DRM office. Arun Jindal has not been arrested by CBI yet.
Apart from this, CBI has arrested Gautam Chhawla, owner of Vatsal Infotech Private Limited Delhi and has filed an FIR in the name of Vatsal Infotech Company. Also, an FIR has been filed in the name of Shivmani Enterprises Private Company Ghaziabad and its director Saket Kumar has been arrested. Apart from this, an FIR has also been filed against many unknown private and public servants.
