Woman Murder In Araria: A case of murder of a married woman for dowry has come to light late on Tuesday night in Kuruwa Laxmipura Ward No. 14 of Simraha police station area of ​​Araria. On receiving the information, Simraha police station took the body in its custody and sent it to Sadar Hospital Araria for post-mortem on Wednesday. On the application of the deceased's father, a case has been registered against five people of the in-laws' house including the husband. Police is investigating the matter.

 The marriage took place six months ago in April 

Family members said that the deceased was Riya Raj, the wife of Rahul Kumar Mehta, a resident of Kurwa Laxmipura Ward No. 14 of Simraha police station area. Riya Raj of Harichak village of Kahalgaon police station area of ​​Bhagalpur district was married to Rahul about six months ago. The deceased's father is a resident of Harichak village of Kahalgaon police station area of ​​Bhagalpur district. Father Pradeep Kumar Gupta said that Riya Raj was married to Rahul Kumar Mehta, son of Sanjay Mehta, a resident of Kurwa Laxmipura Ward No. 14 of Simraha police station area, on April 19 this year.

The father said that the in-laws started harassing Riya for dowry a few days after the marriage, while they had also given Rs 8 lakh in cash as a gift in the daughter's wedding. Despite this, another demand of Rs 3 lakh was being made. The victim's father said that on Tuesday evening Riya's in-laws had told on the phone that the husband and wife had quarreled and locked themselves in the house. Two hours later, they again said on the phone that Riya had committed suicide by hanging herself.

When they reached Riya's in-laws' house in a hurry, they found their daughter lying dead on a cot in the courtyard. The family says that Riya could never have committed suicide. The family is completely convinced that her in-laws, including her husband, killed Riya for dowry.  

What do the police officers say? 

Meanwhile, Simra police station chief Prem Kumar Bharti said that on the application of the deceased's father, an FIR has been lodged against five people including the husband. All the accused have fled from their homes. The matter is being investigated. The culprits will not be spared under any circumstances.
