Dantewada News: A case of negligence by the operator of Bastar Dairy Farm (BDF) operating in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh has come to light. Insects are coming out of the packed kesar lassi prepared by Bastar Dairy Farm in a daily needs shop in Dantewada district. These insects were given not in just one box but in 5 packed boxes of lassi.

The consumer has complained about this to the food department. The complainant showed in the video made by him that insects were seen wriggling in five closed cans of Kesar Lassi. After this, the team of the food department took action and seized all the cans of lassi as samples and said that action will be taken after investigation.

Food department confiscated lassi cans for sampling

Actually, milk products are made by Bastar Dairy Farm and are supplied in the entire Bastar division. On Thursday, a consumer bought BDF lassi from a daily needs shop in Dantewada. As soon as the consumer opened it, he saw worms wriggling in it. After this, the consumer complained about it to the shopkeeper. Insects were seen in not just one can of the old-date Kesar Lassi but in about 5 cans. After this, the consumer made a video of it and made it viral on social media and complained about it to the food department.

BDF employees removed the infested lassi boxes from the shop, but the food department team has
seized the packed boxes of lassi from the shops where BDF has supplied lassi for sampling and has said that the sample report will come within 21 days after which action will be taken against the operator.

District Food Officer Sushmit Dewangan says that the complainant complained through the video that he had bought BDF lassi in which worms were found. Now a sample is being taken and sent for testing. After this, necessary action will be taken. He said that the report will come from the laboratory within 21 days.

The director of BDF said he will investigate himself

It is worth noting that this is not the first case of negligence in food items by BDF. Earlier also two cases have come to light in Dantewada district itself. This time the food department has come into action after worms were found in the packed lassi cans and has said that strict action will be taken after investigation. Meanwhile, in this case, BDF director Gulzar Nagariya says that he has also come to know about this and he will personally check his product. He said that every product is supplied after its quality is checked but he himself has said that he will also investigate how worms came out in the lassi.
