Donald Trump is seen in action mode since taking oath as the President of America. Trump has taken many decisions on the very first day of becoming the President. US President Donald Trump said that he is considering imposing 10 percent tariff on China.

Trump is considering imposing a 10 percent tariff on Chinese imports from February 1 to stop the supply of the deadly drug fentanyl to Mexico and Canada. 'Fentanyl' is a type of narcotic that is 50 times more powerful and addictive than heroin.

Why does Trump want to impose tariffs on China?

The DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) also says that the global fentanyl supply often originates from chemical companies based in China.

Trump said during a joint press conference with Oracle Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Larry Ellison, SoftBank Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Masayoshi Son and Open AI CEO Sam Altman at the White House,

Tariff will be imposed from February 1

"For Mexico and China, we're talking about about 25 percent (tariffs)," Trump said.

This refers to Mexico and Canada because we have previously threatened to impose tariffs on both countries for allowing undocumented immigrants and drugs to pass through.

Responding to a question, Trump said he was looking at a February 1 date to impose the tariffs. According to the report, these would be on top of the tariffs Trump imposed on more than $300 billion worth of Chinese imports during his first term.

"He was going to give fentanyl dealers the maximum penalty if they sent it to the United States, they were going to get the death penalty, and of course Biden didn't do that, but now I've got that deal closed," Trump said.

Also talked to the President of China

Responding to another question, Trump said that when he spoke to Chinese President Xi Jinping last week, "there wasn't a lot of talk about tariffs. I said we don't want this crap in our country. We've got to stop it, I would have stopped it by now."
