Uttarakhand News: After the recent appointment process for the posts of Gramin Dak Sevak in Uttarakhand, the Pauri Postal Department has got 165 new postmen, out of which 77 newly appointed postmen have registered their arrival at Pauri headquarters. However, during the verification of documents after the appointment, the department found many irregularities. The investigation found that the educational documents of two postmen are fake, while two other postmen ran away without joining after hearing about the verification of documents. The Postal Department has canceled the appointment of all four postmen.

Many of the newly appointed postal servants who came to take charge in Pauri Postal Department were found unable to write Hindi properly. During the investigation, the educational documents of two postal servants were found to be fake. Both these postal servants are residents of Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, two other postal servants from Madhya Pradesh also ran away after hearing about the document verification process and did not join.

Appointment cancelled after investigation
Anil Kumar is a resident of Bamnola, Chandpur in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh in the fake documents case. He had claimed that he had passed the 10th class examination with 97% marks from UP Board in 2014. He was selected as a postal servant on the basis of this mark sheet. Investigation revealed that the roll number on Anil's mark sheet was actually that of another student who had failed in the board examination that year. While the names of both the students were the same, there was a difference in the names and date of birth of their parents. On the basis of this fake document, Anil's appointment was immediately cancelled.

Ankur Yadav is a resident of Hussainpur Khasa, Basantpur in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. He claimed to have passed the 10th examination with 97 percent marks in the year 2013. On this basis, he was selected for the post of postman and got appointed in Pauri Postal Department. But on investigation of the documents, it was found that the mark sheet on the basis of which Ankur was selected was actually of a woman who had failed in the board examination. Due to this irregularity, Ankur Yadav's appointment was also cancelled.

Two other postal servants, who were residents of Dhobisara Kurai and Masaan villages of Madhya Pradesh, had also submitted documents for joining the Pauri Postal Department but as soon as they got the information about the verification of educational documents, they fled from there without joining. Departmental officials have also cancelled their appointment with immediate effect.

What does the Postal Superintendent say on the action?
Deepak Sharma, Postal Superintendent of Pauri Postal Department, said that the details of 32 selected personnel have been sent by the department to the higher officials. In the departmental investigation, the documents of personnel from 32 outside states are being examined. In July 2023, Pauri Postal Department got 98 new postmen, many of whom were from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. The work of checking their documents is still going on.

Postal Superintendent Deepak Sharma also informed that the appointment of postal servants selected on the basis of fake documents has been cancelled. The department is now carefully examining the remaining appointments so that such irregularities are not repeated.
