Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a wanted criminal in Delhi in the case of kidnapping, rape, POCSO and immoral trafficking from Jalaun in UP. The court had declared the criminal a fugitive. In an undercover operation, the police caught the accused by setting up a snack cart near a liquor shop and posing as a seller.
Police gave important information
Delhi Police arrested Anil (36 years), resident of Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, a proclaimed offender from Ram Nagar area of Orai in Jalaun district of UP. Accused Anil was wanted under a sensitive case of kidnapping, rape, POCSO and Immoral Trafficking Act registered in Outer District of Delhi, alleging that he and his accomplices lured a minor girl from Delhi and sold her for prostitution in Bihar. He was declared a proclaimed offender in this case by the Fast Track Court, Rohini.
Delhi Police made an important strategy
Accused Anil was dodging Delhi Police for a long time. Delhi Police had been trying to catch the accused for a long time by forming a team. Many attempts were made from SHO/DCP level to catch the accused and non-bailable warrants (NBW) were issued, yet he was absconding for a long time. During investigation, it was found that after being released on bail, the accused had sold his properties in Nihal Vihar (Delhi) and Jhansi (UP). He had changed all his identity documents and mobile numbers and was frequently changing locations in eastern Uttar Pradesh along with his family.
Through meticulous technical surveillance and field surveillance, Head Constable Ajay identified some suspicious mobile numbers in Jalaun district. Based on specific intelligence, the team laid a trap in Orai, Jalaun. It was learnt that the accused was living in a rented house away from his family and was regularly consuming alcohol. The police team disguised themselves as vendors and parked a snack cart near the liquor shop and started surveillance on the spot. Finally, the accused Anil was identified and successfully arrested after being surrounded on the spot.
