US Launches Airstrikes: The US has strongly responded to the attacks on its personnel by Iran-backed militias in the last 24 hours. The US attacked nine targets in two places in Syria on Monday. The US Central Command has given this information.
After the recent attacks, the US military said, "These attacks will degrade the ability of Iran-backed groups to plan and launch future attacks on US and coalition forces."
No American soldier was injured
No American soldier was injured in these attacks. Till late Monday evening, the Pentagon neither gave any information about which places in Syria were attacked by the US, nor did it tell which places were attacked by the US in return.
The US continues to attack Iran-linked targets in both Iraq and Syria. In February, the US carried out air strikes on more than 85 targets linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) and its backed militias in Iraq and Syria.
900 soldiers are deployed in Syria
The US has about 900 troops deployed in Syria to assist allied forces in operations against Islamic State militants. In February, it launched a massive attack on Iran-backed militia bases in Syria in response to a drone attack in Jordan that killed three American soldiers.
Since the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel and Israel's major military operation in Gaza, Iran-backed fighters along with Hamas have launched attacks using drones and rockets against bases housing US troops in Iraq and Syria.
