The reason is the special production of potatoes. If we talk about potatoes in the area of ​​Aligarh, then potatoes are produced in large quantities by the farmers. This is the reason, cold storages are built here in large quantities. But still potatoes are being produced by the farmers every day. The demand for cold storage is increasing every day due to potato production. 

Due to the storage capacity of potatoes getting full, farmers throw away the potatoes. But now there is good news for the farmers. Now the potatoes grown in Aligarh are being bought by the companies located in Aligarh area. After which the potatoes are being converted into powder and sent abroad. These companies have an agreement with foreign countries, due to which after buying potatoes from the farmers here, these companies manufacture the powder. This powder is used in different dishes by the people of foreign countries. 

Now what all is being made from potato powder 

? Potato is considered the leader of vegetables, but if we talk about taste, then potato plays a very important role in all the delicious products made from potato. Whether it is fast food or other delicious tastes, everything seems incomplete without potato. If we talk about foreign countries, then potato is used in the form of powder abroad. The taste of potato here can be clearly seen in burgers, cutlets, parathas and tikkis and even in namkeen. 

 75 tons of potato powder is being made every day

If we talk about foreign countries, so far potato powder is being sent to five countries including Israel, Brazil and Indonesia and Aligarh is getting a new identity. Currently 75 tons of potato powder is being made every day in Aligarh. But many other businessmen are also moving in this direction. Now it is believed that by 2025, three more companies making potato powder will start in Aligarh. Due to which the number of farmers producing potatoes in Aligarh will also increase.

Potato cultivation in 50 thousand hectares

So far, potato cultivation is being done in 30245 hectares and 50 thousand hectares in Hathras. Many famous companies making chips also buy potatoes from here. If we talk about the year 2018, then 29 tonnes of potatoes were exported from Aligarh to Guyana in South America. This export was done through FPO. Since then, potato farmers have been getting an increase. 

What does the company owner say

on the whole matter? Atul, the owner of the company that manufactures potato powder, said that his company manufactures 75 tons of potato powder daily. First of all, after coming from the cold store, the potatoes are washed with water, after which the potatoes are peeled. Then the potatoes are washed. After this, they are boiled and ground. Then after drying, its powder is made. This powder can be used in any dish. Its price ranges from 120 to 130 rupees per kg. Which is a good price whereas the price of potatoes in the market is 20 to 30 rupees per kg.

What did District Horticulture Officer Shivani say?

Regarding the entire matter, District Horticulture Officer Shivani said that the production of potato is continuously increasing, hence the demand is also increasing in the same way. Currently, the area of ​​potato in Aligarh is 30245 hectares, the farmers are supported by the department for the production, whereas if we talk about Hathras, the area of ​​potato in Hathras is 50,000 hectares, and if we talk about cold storage in Aligarh and Hathras, then the storage capacity is 22 lakh metric tons, the production of potato is increasing every day and the potato farmers are also excited.
