Gujarat News: A parcel containing electronic circuits and batteries sent to a house in Ahmedabad city on Saturday (December 21) exploded, injuring two people. The explosion took place at around 10:45 am in a house in the Sabarmati area, the official said.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Sector-1) Neeraj Badgujar said that the person who delivered the parcel to the house was also injured and has been arrested. He said that this parcel was delivered to Baldev Sukhadia's house to take revenge for some dispute.
The person who came to deliver the parcel got injured
Badgujar said that when the accused Gaurav Gadhvi handed over the parcel, the receiver saw smoke rising. The parcel exploded, injuring Sukhadia's brother Kirit. He said that Gadhvi was also injured and has been arrested. The police team is searching for other accused involved in the incident.
Parcel delivered due to dispute
He further said that initial investigation has revealed that the parcel was delivered to this address due to a dispute with the Sukhadia family. They had received threats earlier as well. The officer said that it appears that the bomb was operated remotely and electronic circuits, batteries and blades have been recovered from the spot.
The officer also said that the investigation team is investigating the actual nature of the device. He said that the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and Forensic Team have reached the spot along with senior police officials .
Several teams are investigating.
This incident is being reported from Sabarmati area of Ahmedabad. Investigation has been started to find out the cause of the explosion. Police has started the investigation by forming different teams.
