Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran's new film 'L2: Empuraan' has created a controversy in Kerala and across the country. Prithviraj has acted as well as directed this film.

 

Recently, there was news that the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) had asked the makers to make cuts in the controversial scenes in the film. However, no official statement was given by the film team at that time. Now, four days after the release, the makers have removed many controversial scenes from the film.

 

These changes were made in 'L2: Empuran'

A three-minute scene of a pregnant woman being beaten up has been removed from 'L2: Empuraan'. Apart from this, the villain's name has been changed from Bajrangi to Baldev. Also, some dialogues have been muted. A scene inspired by the Gujarat riots was also shown in the film, which caused the most objections, some changes have been made in it. The film is now going to be released again with these changes.

The three-minute-long scene of the attack on a pregnant woman has been completely deleted.

The name of the villain of the film has been changed from 'Bajrangi' to 'Baldev'.

Some controversial dialogues have been muted.

A scene inspired by the Gujarat riots has also been edited in the film.

The thank-you card given to BJP MP and actor Suresh Gopi has been removed.

According to sources, the edited and re-censored version may be released on Tuesday evening or Wednesday, although this has not been officially confirmed yet.

Mohanlal is one of the biggest stars of Malayalam cinema, and his films receive tremendous love from the audience. According to ETimes report, the film has collected $19.4 million (about Rs 165 crore) worldwide in just four days. So far, it has earned Rs 70 crore in India. The film has grossed Rs 105 crore in the overseas market.

 

The story of 'L2: Empuran'

The story of the film revolves around Kerala Chief Minister Jathin Ramadoss (Tovino Thomas), who decides to break away from his party and form a new party. Meanwhile, Qureshi Abram (Mohanlal) is fighting against the drug cartel. The film shows how Abram's return affects Kerala politics. The film is rapidly moving towards success at the box office and there is a lot of excitement among the audience about it.
