Kenya has signed a $736 million agreement with Adani Energy Solutions Limited for the construction of three power lines. Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (Ketraco) and Adani Energy Solutions have signed this agreement to develop, finance, construct and manage major transmission infrastructure in Kenya. According to Energy Secretary Opiyo Wandayi, Kenya has signed a $736 million deal with Adani Energy Solutions Limited to build three power lines. The agreement for 30 years said in a statement that Gautam Adani's company will finance, build, operate and maintain the transmission lines for a period of 30 years. He said that the aim of these projects is to improve Kenya's power infrastructure to ensure access to electricity to the people. The country has recently faced frequent power cuts. The estimated cost of this project is 95.68 billion Kenyan shillings ($736 million), which includes the construction of transmission lines and substations to boost Kenya's energy infrastructure. On Friday, the company's shares closed at Rs 976.80, down 1.32 percent.
