A police inspector has been suspended for allowing BJP leaders inside the Khanapur police station in Karnataka's Belagavi following the arrest of BJP leader MLC CT Ravi.

 

He is accused of violating the orders of his superiors. According to official information received on Wednesday, Belgaum North Zone IG Vikas Kumar has issued this order of suspension of Police Inspector and Station Incharge Manjunath Nayak on 21 December.

 

These allegations have been leveled against the police inspector

The police inspector is accused of not making adequate security arrangements at the police station. Meanwhile, the suspension of the police inspector has taken a political turn.

BJP, Dalit and pro-Kannada organisations have called for a Khanpur bandh against the suspension. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Home Minister G.Parameshwara held a meeting with police officials in Belagavi. Speaking to reporters, Parameshwara told reporters that the issue of CT Ravi was not discussed in the meeting. At present, the CID is investigating the case, so he will not comment on it.
