Moradabad Mandir News: A temple has been found after 44 years in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. Some broken idols have been found here. According to the information, Gauri Shankar temple was found in Daulat Bagh of Nagfani police station area. Idols were found during excavation. The temple was closed since the murder of the priest in the communal riots in 1980. Excavation took place on Monday, 30 December in the presence of police administration.

 There was a talk of opening this temple from before. Excavations were done in the sanctum sanctorum here. After this, idols were found from here. The debris inside the temple was removed. A large number of police personnel and district administration officials were present on the spot. There was a long standing demand to open this temple.

The name of this temple is Gauri Shankar Mandir. According to the information, it was closed after the riots in Moradabad in 1980. The priest of the temple was killed in the same riots.

Seva Ram, who demanded the opening of the temple, made this claim.
Seva Ram, who demanded the opening of the temple, said that this temple was built by our great grandfather in the year 1954. Our grandfather was killed in the riots of 1980. In 1980, this area was a completely Hindu area. After complaining to the DM, today excavation is being done here from where the Shiv Parivar has been found. Seva Ram said that our demand is that construction work should be done here. Right now it is in a ruined state. 

Om Shankar, a local present on the spot, claimed that earlier only Hindus used to live here. In 1980, Hindus used to live here. Most of the Saini people used to live here. There was a mixed population. But this temple was closed since 1980.

What did the district administration say?
In this regard, SDM Sadar, who was present on the spot on behalf of the district administration, said that we had received a complaint and the District Magistrate had instructed that there is a Gaurishankar temple in Nagfani police station which is closed. Last Saturday we visited here, where we saw that all the doors were closed. Today it was opened with the Municipal Corporation team. There was garbage inside it. Which has now been removed. Our effort is to bring the temple to its original form.

On the question of encroachment, the ADM said that our priority was to restore the sanctum sanctorum of the temple to its original form. At present, a lot of premises of the temple is available. We will do separate homework on how much premises it had earlier.
