Uttarakhand News: The days of the forest department in Uttarakhand are not going well. Many cases of infighting among officials have increased the concerns of the state government and the forest minister. Now another letter can increase the trouble of the forest department. The CBI is investigating the Pakharo Safari case in Corbett Park. The same sources say that now the ED has sought information related to CAMPA. A letter in this regard has reached the forest department in which information about CAMPA has been sought. It is being told that in the letter of ED, information has been sought on many points.

At the time of transfer of forest land, the user department deposits the amount of the net present value of the forest land. Then this amount is given to the state from the center through CAMPA. Its work is to work under compensatory afforestation. Apart from this, there are also works of soil conservation, water conservation, reducing human-wildlife conflict. A rule has been made for this. According to sources, the standards have not been followed regarding the allocation made from CAMPA in one round.

ED sought information on several points

ED has recently sought some important information, the question is arising whether it is related to Pakharo or to some new case of CAMPA. Information has been sought on various points in the letter issued by ED, due to which speculations are being made on both the cases. Talking about CAMPA item, it is related to the amount of net present value deposited by the forest department at the time of transfer of forest land. This amount is transferred from the central government to the state under CAMPA item. Its main objective is to do compensatory afforestation, so that the damage caused to the forest area can be compensated.

Apart from this, this amount is also used for works like soil conservation, water conservation, and reducing human-wildlife conflict. A manual has been made for the process of using CAMPA funds, which is mandatory to follow. According to the information received recently, the standards have not been followed in the matter of allocation of CAMPA funds. These irregularities can be a possible reason for ED's investigation.

At present it is not clear whether the focus of ED's investigation is Pakharo or the irregularities in the allocation of CAMPA funds. Clarity in this matter will increase when detailed information is received about the information sought in the ED letter. Meanwhile, all the concerned parties will have to cooperate in the ED investigation by following the legal procedures, so that impartiality is maintained and the right solution to the irregularities can be found.
