
A high-level review meeting was held in the "Media Conference Room" located at the Forest Headquarters under the chairmanship of the Forest Minister of Uttarakhand. Forest Conservator, Forest Department officials, Project Director and other senior officials were present online and physically in this meeting. The main objective of the meeting was to review various aspects related to forest conservation and management.
In the meeting, Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF) Dhananjay Mohan informed that in the current afforestation season, Uttarakhand has been ranked 19th in the country. This figure is according to the data released by the Forest Survey of India (FSI). A significant decline has been recorded in afforestation incidents this year as compared to previous years, which has led to the need to reconsider the forest conservation policies of the state government.
Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal directed the forest officials to work with more vigilance and activism to improve this situation. He clarified that the state government is working on various schemes to make forest management more effective.

The government will run a publicity campaign to control the number of pine trees in forest areas and develop mixed forests. Print, electronic and social media will be used for this.
