The central government, which is engaged in providing quality education to the people at the bottom of the pyramid, has announced to open 85 Kendriya Vidyalayas and 28 new Navodaya Vidyalayas in the country. The maximum number of 13 Kendriya Vidyalayas will be opened in Jammu and Kashmir. Out of the 28 new Navodaya Vidyalayas that have been announced to be opened, the maximum number of eight Navodaya Vidyalayas will be opened in Arunachal Pradesh.
More than eight thousand crore rupees will be spent in eight years
More than eight thousand crore rupees will be spent on opening these schools in the next eight years. All of them will function as PM-Shri schools. This important decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting held on Friday under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Giving information about the decisions taken in the cabinet, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that these 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas will be opened in 19 states of the country. Among these, a Kendriya Vidyalaya will also be opened in Khajuri Khas, Delhi. He said that with the opening of 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas, more than 82 thousand students will be able to get education in them.
A big step towards promoting the education sector
With this, more than five thousand people will get jobs in other posts including teaching. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has described this decision of the cabinet as a big step towards promoting the education sector. He said that this decision will help in preparing global citizens for the 21st century. The cabinet has also upgraded an existing Kendriya Vidyalaya in Shimoga district of Karnataka.
With the opening of 28 new Navodaya Vidyalayas, more than 15 thousand students will get admission in them. Along with this, more than 1300 new people will get jobs on other posts including teaching. While about 5872 crores will be spent on opening a Kendriya Vidyalaya, 2360 crores will be spent on opening Navodaya Vidyalayas. At present, there are 1,256 Kendriya Vidyalayas. Of these, three are abroad - in Moscow, Kathmandu and Tehran.
