UP Madrasa: 513 Madrasas recognized by the Madrasa Education Council in Uttar Pradesh will be locked. These Madrasas had applied to the state government to withdraw their recognition, which was approved in the cabinet meeting. A meeting of the UP Madrasa Education Council was held on Tuesday in which the proposal to cancel the recognition of these Madrasas was approved. In this regard, according to the rules 2016, a registrar has been authorized for further action.
These 513 madrasas run by UP Madrasa Education Council are running in different districts of the state, after which the operators of these madrasas had applied to cancel their recognition. The madrasa operators have taken this decision after the government's strict action against the fraud of madrasas running without recognition in UP in the recent past. Which has been approved in the meeting of the Madrasa Board.
513 madrasas applied for withdrawal of recognition
Madrasa Education Council member Qamar Ali, while talking to PTI in this regard, said that 513 madrasas in the state had applied to the council to surrender the recognition of their madrasas, for which they have given their own reasons. Madrasa operators say that earlier the recognition and renewal of madrasas was done at the level of Minority Welfare Officer. But now this right has been given to the Registrar.
The operators say that after the Registrar got this right, it has become a difficult process for the madrasas to renew their recognition within a certain period. Because they also have to educate the children in the madrasas, many of these madrasas have now taken recognition from the Basic Education Council, which is obtained only from the Basic Education Officer.
Let us tell you that 16,513 madrasas recognized by the Madrasa Education Council are being run in UP. Out of these, 8449 madrasas were running without recognition, which were closed after investigation and orders were given to admit the children here in basic education schools. Not only this, in 2021, the budget given to madrasas by the central government also stopped. Due to which the madrasas were also facing a financial crisis.
Talking to ABP Live on this issue, UP Madrasa Education Council President Iftikhar Javed said that these madrasas have sent a proposal to surrender their recognition, on which the registrar has been authorized to talk to them. Although no reason is clear yet as to why they want to give up their recognition, but the problem that has come out in some discussions is that due to lack of budget for modern education which includes math and science, teachers are not being paid salaries, due to which problems in studies are being considered as a reason. However, efforts are on to know the root cause by talking to everyone.
