Taiwanese company Gold Apollo, which came into the news after the pager blasts, said on Wednesday that the pagers used in the explosions in Lebanon were not made by it but by a company called BAC. The company said that BAC has a license to use its brand.

The company said – the product is not ours

Gold Apollo founder and chairman Hsu Ching Kuang said that the product was not ours. It was just that it had our brand on it.

The pager that exploded was the AR-924 model, manufactured and sold by BAC, the company said in a statement.

Su Ching previously said the licensed firm was based in Europe, but later declined to comment on BAC's location.

Gold Apollo's name was found on the pager

A senior Lebanese security source said the explosives inside the devices were planted by Israel's spy agency Mossad. Images of destroyed pagers analysed by Reuters showed stickers on the back of one that were consistent with pagers made by Gold Apollo.

This is how Israel shook Lebanon

The Lebanese source said the pager was tampered with at the production stage by Israel's intelligence agency Mossad. Mossad injected a board inside the device that contains explosive material that receives a code. It is very difficult to detect it by any means. Not even by any device or scanner.

The source said 3,000 pagers exploded when a coded message was sent to them, activating the explosives.
