Washington: Former US President Donald Trump has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet him during his upcoming three-day visit to the US next week. In a town hall meeting in Flint, Michigan, Trump said that Modi will be in the US next week. Trump said that he will meet Modi during this time.

When Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was asked questions related to trade and tariffs, he said, "He (Modi) is coming to meet me next week. Modi is a wonderful person. Many of these leaders are wonderful."

Indians are the smartest people: Trump

Trump also said that India imposes heavy tariffs on imports. "These guys are the smartest guys...you know, they're at the top of their game and they use it against us. India and Brazil are very tough. China is the toughest, but we were taking care of China with tariffs," he said.

PM Modi will participate in Quad conference

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in the US from 21 to 23 September. Modi's visit will begin with the Quad Leaders Summit held in Delaware. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio will participate in this summit. After this, PM Modi will go to New York and address a huge community event in Long Island on September 22. The next day he will address world leaders at the historic summit at the United Nations Headquarters.
