This story tells us that true love is one that combines faith, understanding, and self-control, only then can peace and balance prevail in life.
marriage proposal story
According to legend, once Mother Tulsi, formerly an ascetic named Vrinda, went to visit Lord Ganesha after intense penance . Seeing him sitting in a secluded forest, deep in meditation, Tulsi was deeply impressed by his divine radiance, beauty, and serenity. She felt certain that Lord Ganesha was her worthy husband.
Tulsi proposed marriage to Lord Ganesha. Ganesha humbly replied, "O Goddess, I am observing a vow of celibacy and will not marry in this life." However, Tulsi was so absorbed in her emotions that she refused to accept his answer and continued to urge him again and again.
Curse of Mother Tulsi
When Ganesha repeatedly politely refused to marry her, Mother Tulsi lost control of her emotions. This insistence, born of love, turned to anger, and she cursed Lord Ganesha that he would surely marry her. Ganesha calmly replied that Tulsi's anger would cause him unhappiness. He said that Tulsi would marry a demon, but she would be freed from her curse and be revered as a divine and revered plant, whose worship would be essential in every religious ritual.
