News Topical, Digital Desk : India has got a big diplomatic victory at the global level and after the objection of Shashi Tharoor, who was part of the Indian delegation, Colombia has officially withdrawn its statement in which it had expressed condolences on the deaths in Pakistan after the Indian attacks.

 

Earlier, the Colombian government had expressed disappointment over the people killed during Operation Sindoor, carried out by India on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and PoK. On this, Shashi Tharoor went to Colombia and expressed concern and expressed disappointment over the reaction of the Colombian government.

 

Meeting with Indian delegation

After meeting the Indian delegation, Colombia's Deputy Foreign Minister Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio said, "We are confident that based on the clarifications we have received today and the information we now have about the real situation, the conflict and what has happened in Kashmir, we can continue the dialogue."

 

Commenting on the recent response of the Colombian government, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that the Deputy Foreign Minister very politely mentioned that they have withdrawn the statement over which we had expressed concern and that they fully understand our position, this is very valuable for us.

 

India's tough stand on terrorism

On Thursday, in the Colombian capital, Shashi Tharoor spoke in detail about India's stance on terrorism. During this, he gave information about Operation Sindoor and expressed disappointment over the Colombian government's response to expressing condolences to Pakistan.

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, who was part of the delegation, said Tharoor reiterated India's stand on terrorism and expressed disappointment at Colombia's response, which expressed condolences over the loss of lives in Pakistan instead of sympathising with the victims of terrorism in India.
