Lord Vishwakarma is considered the father of all mechanical and architectural works of creation. He built many divine structures including Swarga Loka, Dwarka Nagari and Indra's Vajra. This festival holds special significance for craftsmen, artisans, engineers and workplaces associated with machines.
On this day people worship their machines, tools and factories so that there is prosperity in their work.
Method of Worship (Vishwakarma Puja 2025 Rituals)
- Before the puja, thoroughly clean all the tools, machines and work place.
- Wake up early in the morning, take a bath and take a resolution for the puja.
- Install the idol of Lord Vishwakarma on an altar.
- Include things like flowers, Akshat, Roli, sandalwood, turmeric, lamp, incense, fruits and sweets etc. in the puja.
- First of all worship Lord Ganesha. Then apply tilak to Lord Vishwakarma and offer flower garland.
- After this, apply tilak on all your tools and machines and worship them.
- Offer flowers and rice to them.
- Chant the mantras of Lord Vishwakarma 'Om Vishwakarmane Namah'.
- At the end of the puja, perform aarti of Lord Vishwakarma and offer prasad.
- After the puja, distribute prasad and donate to the poor.
