Yogi Government Approves Rs 3.93 Crore for New Anti-Corruption Police Station and Administrative Building in Basti

Strengthening the administrative infrastructure and cracking down firmly on financial malpractices, the Uttar Pradesh government has granted formal administrative and financial approval for a brand-new Anti-Corruption Organization (ACO) police station and administrative building in Basti. As part of a larger ₹16.20 crore budgetary rollout sanctioned across four major divisions in the state, Basti has been allocated ₹3.93 crore to establish a dedicated, state-of-the-art complex. The initiative aims to accelerate the investigation and resolution of corruption cases, providing investigators with advanced infrastructural capabilities.

Dedicated Land Allocation and PWD Construction Mandate

To fast-track the project, the local district administration has successfully allotted approximately 2,000 square meters of prime land situated in Rampur, near Kali Hospital. Construction Division 1 of the Public Works Department (PWD) has been officially entrusted with executing the project. The upcoming modern complex will house an administrative office, specialized police residential quarters, high-security zones, and essential logistical facilities. Previously, the Basti division's anti-corruption unit operated out of temporary setups within the police lines, making this permanent infrastructure development a major milestone for local law enforcement.

Expediting Corruption Investigations and Enhancing Legal Efficiency

With the establishment of the dedicated police station building, legal and investigative procedures will experience a massive boost in efficiency. Official correspondence issued by Special Secretary Dinesh Kumar to the Additional Director General of Police highlights that cases will now be formally registered directly at the new facility, and accused individuals can be presented in court straight from the premises. Furthermore, the inclusion of a secure designated storehouse will eliminate the old hassle of keeping crucial case materials and evidence scattered across other police stations, ensuring foolproof record-keeping and transparent prosecution.
