Yogi Adityanath Announces Yamanashi Japan Desk at Invest UP to Boost Foreign Investments and Tourism
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a high-level meeting with officials from Invest UP and various key state departments to accelerate industrial cooperation, manufacturing, and tourism initiatives involving Japanese enterprises. Building on the recent visit of a 240-member delegation that fostered strong bilateral ties, the state government has officially decided to establish a dedicated Yamanashi Japan Desk within Invest UP to streamline and expedite future investments.
Accelerating Industrial Infrastructure and the Japanese City
During the review meeting, the Chief Minister evaluated the ongoing land acquisition progress for the planned Japanese City under the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). Officials confirmed that over 350 acres out of the targeted 500 acres of land acquisition have already been completed.
To further strengthen global partnerships, the state administration announced that a specialized delegation comprising ministers, public representatives, senior officials, and industrial experts will participate in upcoming global events scheduled in Japan across September, October, and December.
Empowering Youth Through Skill Development and Language Training
A key priority highlighted during the discussions is expanding employment opportunities for Uttar Pradesh youth within Yamanashi Prefecture and other Japanese regions. To bridge cultural and professional gaps, the state plans to scale up Japanese language training programs and technical skill development initiatives. This workforce readiness aims to seamlessly connect local talent with Japanese manufacturing, green energy, and technology sectors operating within the state.
Expanding Buddhist Circuit Tourism
Leveraging the rich cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh, the state government is rolling out structured arrangements to attract Japanese tourists to prominent Buddhist pilgrimage centers. Coordinated efforts will focus on enhancing infrastructure and hospitality around key heritage destinations, including Sarnath, Kushinagar, Shravasti, and Kapilvastu.
