UP Mega Bonanza: 1 Crore Women to Get ₹1 Lakh Each Under Yogi Govt
In a landmark economic empowerment initiative across Uttar Pradesh, the state government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced an expansive financial package aimed at uplifting one crore rural and semi-urban women. Under this welfare push, eligible women enrolled in self-help networks across all seventy-five districts will receive interest-free financial assistance amounting to ₹1,00,000 each. Delivered under the aegis of the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM), the funds are structured to be disbursed directly into individual bank accounts via transparent Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), providing grassroots micro-entrepreneurs the critical liquidity required to launch small businesses, scale traditional handicrafts, and build sustainable household income streams.
Three-Tier Installment Blueprint and Special Credit Card Facility
The ₹1,00,000 financial support model is engineered across three phased disbursements over a three-year operational window. The state government will roll out the initial installment of ₹20,000 on December 20, providing seed capital for home-based enterprises and livestock rearing. Beneficiaries who repay this initial amount on schedule will qualify for a second tranche of ₹30,000, followed by a final substantial disbursal of ₹50,000. To ensure streamlined financial management and institutional accountability, each of the ten million participating women will be issued a specialized credit card, enabling them to withdraw and service their zero-interest revolving working capital effortlessly.
High-Level Yojana Bhawan Summit Confirms Banking Coordination
Detailing the mechanics of the scheme following a high-level review at Yojana Bhawan in Lucknow, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya highlighted that the administration is working in close tandem with nationalized and regional rural banks. The meeting emphasized simplifying banking protocols for village women and expanding rural financial services through community-trained women cadres such as Bank Sakhis and BC Sakhis. Maurya affirmed that the initiative reflects the combined vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to foster self-reliance, noting that direct DBT delivery thoroughly bypasses middlemen and guarantees immediate, transparent capital distribution to every eligible sister across Uttar Pradesh.
50,000 Free Scooters and Fuel Support for Deserving College Students
Complementing the micro-credit initiative, the state administration is finalizing preparations to distribute free two-wheelers to 50,000 merit-based female college students. Institutional student screening and academic verification drives are underway across degree colleges and universities statewide, while the state procurement department wraps up the bidding and vendor selection process for vehicle manufacturers. To ease the initial commuting burden for young scholars, the government has earmarked dedicated budgetary allocations covering the full acquisition cost alongside an inaugural quota of five liters of complimentary petrol per scooter, facilitating safe, unhindered access to higher educational campuses.
