UP Government Launches Free One-Time Registration (OTR) for All Job Seekers

In a major leap toward digital governance, the Yogi Adityanath-led government has officially launched the One-Time Registration (OTR) system via the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), effective July 14, 2026. Designed to streamline the recruitment process, this completely free initiative is set to eliminate the tedious paperwork previously required for every new job notification, making the journey toward a government career faster, transparent, and candidate-friendly.

Say Goodbye to Repeated Form Filling

The OTR system is a game-changer for aspirants preparing for various state-level exams, including the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET). Under this digital framework, candidates are required to register their personal details—such as name, parentage, date of birth, caste, address, and educational qualifications—only once. Once verified through a mobile number and email ID, this profile becomes the candidate’s digital identity. For future recruitment drives, the system will automatically pull these records, sparing applicants from the repetitive chore of filling out long forms.

Maximizing Your PET Score Potential

A significant highlight of this new OTR-integrated system is the enhanced utility of PET scores. The Yogi government has ensured that PET exam results will remain valid for three years. In a move that favors merit, candidates who have appeared for multiple PET exams can choose to utilize their highest valid score for upcoming recruitment cycles. This policy is specifically designed to provide high-performing candidates with better opportunities to secure government positions based on their best academic output.

Digital Transparency and Security

By moving the entire application process to a secure, digital-first platform, the UPSSSC aims to minimize human error and eliminate discrepancies in candidate data. The Commission has emphasized that once an OTR number is issued and the profile is finalized, modifications to the data are restricted. Consequently, the government has advised all aspirants to enter their information with meticulous care during the initial setup. This digital record-keeping approach not only ensures data security but also reinforces the integrity and reliability of the state’s recruitment pipeline.

A Youth-Friendly Initiative

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who first proposed the OTR model in 2023, envisioned a recruitment framework that would reduce the financial and administrative burden on the state's youth. By making this facility entirely free of cost, the government is ensuring that millions of aspirants, regardless of their economic background, can easily participate in the state’s recruitment ecosystem. This move marks a significant milestone in the Yogi administration’s commitment to digitizing governance and creating a seamless, meritocratic path for the youth of Uttar Pradesh to achieve their career goals.
