CM Yogi’s Rs 569 Crore Gift to Sambhal: Massive Infrastructure and Tourism Boost
In a significant move to accelerate the development of Western Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Sambhal to gift 66 major development projects worth a staggering ₹568.98 crore to the district. The visit focused on long-term infrastructure, health, and education, with a special emphasis on religious tourism. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for 54 new projects valued at over ₹500 crore and inaugurated 12 completed works worth approximately ₹69 crore, marking a transformative day for the region's connectivity and social amenities.
Transforming Tourism and Connectivity
The centerpiece of this development package is the ambitious 24-Kosi Vanshgopal Tirtha Parikrama Marg, for which the foundation stone was laid with an investment of over ₹300 crore. This project is set to revitalize local religious tourism by improving access to sacred sites including the Shahzadi Sarai Tourist Facilitation Centre, Sambhleswar Mahatirtha, Suryakund Tirtha, Bhubaneshwar Linga Mahatirtha, and the revered Shri Kalki Vishnu Temple. Beyond tourism, the state government has prioritized road infrastructure, dedicating crucial links like the Mau Kathair-Fatehpur Shamsoi-Chandausi road and the Chandauli-Kud Fatehgarh road to public service, ensuring smoother transportation across the district.
Empowering Health and Education
Recognizing the critical need for better social infrastructure, CM Yogi announced a new Government Inter College in Chandausi, further strengthening the region’s academic framework. Additional educational milestones included the construction of a Centre of Excellence at the Government Polytechnic Chandausi and new Kasturba Gandhi Girls' Hostels in Sambhal, Bahjoi, and Chandausi. In the health sector, the foundation was laid for a new 100-bed district hospital in Bahjoi, a project costing over ₹63 crore. Complementing this, significant investments were made in transit infrastructure, including the upcoming Chandausi bus station and a state-of-the-art UPSRTC depot workshop.
A Personal Touch: CM Interacts with the Future
Beyond the policy announcements, the Chief Minister’s visit was marked by a series of warm interactions. At the development exhibition in Bahjoi, CM Yogi took time to inspect stalls ranging from the Health Department to archaeological displays showcasing ancient artifacts. During his visit to the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) stall, the Chief Minister was seen interacting joyfully with young children, gifting them chocolates and toys. He also participated in traditional ceremonies, including a godh bharai (baby shower) for expectant mothers and the annaprashan ceremony for infants. By taking the time to engage with local beneficiaries and examine the model of the 24-Kosi Parikrama route, the Chief Minister reinforced his administration's focus on a "people-first" approach to governance that balances large-scale infrastructure with community-level welfare.
