In a major welfare push for the education sector, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to extend cashless medical treatment benefits of up to ₹5 lakh per family annually to approximately 350,000 teachers working across 25,000 unaided secondary schools statewide. The Secondary Education Department, under the direction of Special Secretary Umesh Chandra, has formally released procedural guidelines for the Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme, broadening healthcare access to self-financed institution staff alongside existing coverage for government and aided school personnel. The initiative allows eligible educators and their dependents to receive free medical care across empaneled public and private hospitals.

Application Process and Strict Multi-Level Verification Protocols

To register for the healthcare benefits, teachers must submit their personal and family details on the designated portal using standard government identification details. The enrollment workflow includes a structured verification system to maintain transparency and prevent misuse. Initially, the principal of the respective school scrutinizes and verifies the instructor's active employment before forwarding the digital application to the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS). Upon final approval by the DIOS, the teacher is enrolled; however, should an educator leave their position, school heads are mandated to immediately inform the DIOS to update the scheme registry.

State Wide Launch Event Scheduled in Agra with District-Level Programs

Chief Secretary SP Goyal confirmed during a comprehensive video conference review meeting with Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will officially launch the scheme on Sunday, July 26, from Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Agra. Concurrent launch ceremonies will take place across every district in Uttar Pradesh, where local public representatives will hand over initial cashless health cards to beneficiary teachers on stage. District Magistrates have been instructed to coordinate closely with regional education officers and ensure maximum participation from both aided and self-financed institutions as part of the statewide rollout.
