News Topical, Digital Desk : Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has apologized for the stampede that took place near a temple in Puri on Sunday. CM Majhi has apologized to the devotees of Lord Jagannath. Three people have died in the stampede in Puri. Officials said that three people have lost their lives in the stampede that took place near Sri Gundicha Temple in the early hours of Sunday. About 50 other people have also been injured.

CM apologized to the devotees of Jagannath

On this accident, CM Majhi posted a message in Odia language on the social media platform 'X' and said, 'I and my government apologize to all Jagannath devotees. We express our condolences to the families of the devotees who lost their lives in the stampede.'

Provide us with the strength to bear the pain- CM

Along with this, CM Majhi said that he prays to Mahaprabhu Jagannath to give him strength to bear this sorrow. He also said that the security lapse will be investigated and strict action will be taken against those found guilty. 

Action will be taken against those responsible

Majhi said, "This negligence is unpardonable. The security lapse will be investigated immediately and I have directed that necessary steps be taken to initiate strict action against those responsible for the incident." 

The accident happened early Sunday morning

Officials said the stampede near Sri Gundicha Temple took place around 4 am on Sunday when hundreds of devotees had gathered near the temple to witness the Rath Yatra festival. They said the injured were admitted to a nearby hospital and the condition of six people was critical.
